Indigenous Peoples Condemn Nuclear Colonialism on 'Columbus' Day

Ian Zabarte, Native Community Action CouncilBeyond Nuclear was honored and privileged to take part in the Native American Forum on Nuclear Issues held at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV) on October 10-11, Indigenous Peoples Day. The powerful event was organized by Ian Zabarte (photo, right) of the Native Community Action Council (NCAC). Speakers from indigenous rights and environmental groups from throughout the US condemned nuclear colonialism, from uranium mining, milling, and processing, to atomic power and nuclear weapons, to radioactive waste -- all of which disproportionately impacts Native Americans and other indigenous peoples, an environmental injustice.
