Toledo, OH based attorney Terry Lodge serves as legal counsel for the environmental coalition.

Robert Alvarez, senior scholar at Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, D.C., serves as the coalition's expert witness.

The coalition filed its intervention petition and hearing request on Feb. 24, 2021.

They were joined by the AG of MI, Dana Nessel, as well as the Environmental Law & Policy Center of Chicago.

The Goethe-Institut Washington, DC, the Heinrich Böll Stiftung, Washington, DC and Beyond Nuclear will present four events during 2021 -- under the heading Cultural Resistance: Standing Up to Nuclear Power Through Protest and the Arts -- in a year that marks 10 years since the Fukushima nuclear disaster, and 35 years since the Chernobyl nuclear accident.

“Toward an Evidence-based Nuclear Energy Policy,” 2:00–3:30 PM EST, March 30, 2021, Virtual Capitol Hill Briefing

Beyond Nuclear will participate as a presenter and panelist in the Energy and Environmental Study Institute’s fourth briefing of Congressional members and staff on a host of nuclear energy issues including climate change, radioactive waste, decommissioning and environmental justice. Beyond Nuclear’s presentation will focus on the industry effort to extend atomic power plant operating licenses to ever more dangerous extremes from 40 to 60 years, now 80 and next 100 years. Amory Lovins, an adjunct professor at Stanford University, is the keynote speaker on the economics of nuclear power vs. renewable energy, efficiency and climate change. PSR WI petitions to intervene and requests hearing in opposition to NextEra Energy Point Beach's 80-year operating license application

Point Beach Nuclear Power Plant, NRC file photo.Petition for Leave to Intervene and Request for an Adjudicatory Hearing, filed by attorney Terry Lodge of Toledo, Ohio, on behalf of Physicians for Social Responsibility Wisconsin (PSR WI).

The NextEra Energy Point Beach Nuclear Power Plant Atomic Reactor Units 1 and 2 are located in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, on the Lake Michigan shoreline (see photo, left).

Accompanying the petition and request were expert witness declarations:

Declaration of Alvin Compaan, Ph.D., Emeritus Professor of Physics at University of Toledo, and President of Lucintech, Inc.;
