Dave Kraft to receive Judy Johnsrud award at 2017 ANA event

The Alliance for Nuclear Accountability (ANA) will honor an impressive line-up of individuals and organizations at its May 23, 2017 awards reception on Capitol Hill.  Each year, as part of the ANA event, Beyond Nuclear names a Judy Johnsrud Unsung Hero Award winner in memory of beloved Beyond Nuclear board member and longtime grassroots activist, Dr. Judith Johnsrud. For 2017, we selected Dave Kraft (pictured), executive director of Nuclear Energy Information Service, for his nearly four decades of diligent dedication and good humored visionary work for a nuclear-free world. The remaining ANA winners are: Congressman Ted Lieu, for introducing legislation to prevent presidential first use of nuclear weapons without Congressional approval; International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, for leadership in efforts to secure a global nuclear weapons ban; Trinity downwinders activist, Tina Cordova; and the First Annual Bill Mitchell Grassroots Activist Award, (winner to be announced on the night).
