As called for by the Camp of the Sacred Stones, the Native American encampment of water protectors resisting the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL).
Human Rights
The entire nuclear fuel chain involves the release of radioactivity, contamination of the environment and damage to human health. Most often, communities of color, indigenous peoples or those of low-income are targeted to bear the brunt of these impacts, particularly the damaging health and environmental effects of uranium mining. The nuclear power industry inevitably violates human rights. Are you ready for December 1? Over a hundred #NoDAPL actions all across the world are kicking off a Global Month of #NoDAPL solidarity as we continue to protect our water in the face of escalating human rights abuses. Join this Thunderclap by noon Dec 1 to amplify our voices!
The financial footing of the Dakota Access Pipeline is in jeopardy if they do not complete the project by January 1st. If this deadline is missed, a majority of the shippers with contracts to use the pipeline will be able to renegotiate or cancel their contracts. DNB Bank of Norway, one of the major financiers, has already sold their assets in the company due to public pressure and is considering withdrawing their loans.
We are asking people to keep up the pressure on the investors of Dakota Access Pipeline and the Sheriff Departments that have been brutalizing peaceful water protectors.

SHUT DOWN THE BANKS. CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNTS. DEMAND WITHDRAWAL OF SHERIFF DEPTS.
On November 20th the police and National Guard violently attacked peaceful water protectors at Standing Rock. Police used tear gas, rubber bullets, pepper spray, concussion grenades, and sprayed them with water cannons in subfreezing conditions - hundreds of people were injured.
On #NoBlackSnakeFriday, the Obama Administration issued an eviction notice to the Oceti Sakowin encampments at Standing Rock. The eviction notice came as a letter from the US Army Corps of Engineers to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, informing them that on Dec. 5th, it will “close” all lands north of the Cannonball River, where the Oceti Sakowin encampment is located.
We are a coalition of grassroots groups living and working at the encampments, and we will not be moved. We stand united in defiance of the black snake and are committed to defense of water, our Mother Earth, and our rights as Indigenous people.
